Saratoga Oceanic Development Group, Inc (SODGI) is a software development company specializing in video conferencing technologies. We build a conference engine that scales the quality of video and audio services dependent upon the bandwidth or resources the client makes available.
Our flagship product, PlaceCam provides the user with the basic tool set to make effective, secure and efficient video with audio conference sessions. You can have a conference with up to 40 users in a single session (up to 10 videos can be displayed at one time).
PlaceCam has a wide range of features, for example: comprehensive user control of conference parameters (bandwidth, frame size, frame rate), multiple video and audio device support, individual contact lists, the ability to record sessions, real time collaboration of any Windows application, IM Chat, Offline Chat, internal file transfer, comprehensive language support and others.
PlaceCam has several types of users arranged into groups of ordinary users and moderator level users. Ordinary users can participate in video conferences and initiate limited video conferences. Moderator users can initiate broader video conferences, control which audio visible streams are transmitted to the conference and initiate application/document collaboration.
PlaceCam also has the capability to connect to SIP/RTP servers, used by providers of dedicated video conferencing solutions like Polycom, Tandberg and others. This will allow companies to leverage their current investment in a low cost manner.
Included in the highest level moderator account is the ability to stream video conferences, including collaborated documents, to media servers so that a video conference can be made viewable by a very large number of viewers.
PlaceCamWeb is our web-based version of PlaceCam video conferencing technology. It differs from other web-based video conferencing solutions in that it runs, not as an application embedded in a web page but as an application running on top of the web page. It is fully controllable from web pages through our proprietary Javascript interface.
PlaceCamWeb can also interface with users running PlaceCam desktop. That model comes to its operational peak when a moderator running PlaceCam desktop controls a video conference of PlaceCamWeb users.
SODGI will introduce a combined PlaceCam/PlaceCamWeb conferencing solution designed to compete with PC GotoMeeting and other video conferencing solutions that can be sold for ‘by the hour’ use.
SODGI can produce customized versions of the video conferencing technologies that are integrated into a client’s application. An example might be a client who currently operates a unified messaging service and would like to add a video conferencing component. Another example would be a software game developer who wished to add user video interaction to their product. Social networking sites are another possible client for embedded videoconferencing solutions.
SODGI believes market acceptance of IP based services will enhance our opportunities for major market penetration. While clients are currently moving away from the traditional TDM wired services, there is now be less resistance in making a decision to use an IP based video conferencing product like PlaceCam.
SODGI will continue to improve PlaceCam and introduce new features that will appeal to numerous market segments. We recognize that the telecommunications and IT market segments are constantly evolving. We believe most clients strive to locate best of breed style products. The research and development team have the next twelve months product enhancements defined.
In the recent past, multicast was not a routable technology, ie., it could be used only in self contained networks, not in mutli router networks such as the Internet.
Our owner has a patent pending that covers all aspects of making multicast routable. In fact, we use it in our own product, PlaceCam V3. The patent has withstood legal due diligence.
ISPs would much prefer to process one data stream for video transmission using multicast instead of multiple data streams using unicast. In fact, many ISPs do collect individual unicast data streams and pass them on with multicast streams.
The patent also covers video conferencing of greater than one-on-one participants. Also in the patent is a provision with respect to embedding live video in emails.
SODGI will employ a partner channel as its main method of marketing. SODGI will retire any debt financing within the first 36 months of operation.
